Mrs. Zula Mae Jacobs Scott, age 84, went home to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence, SC. She was born in Robeson County on March 15, 1927.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her mother, Lelia Jacobs; her husband, Robert Scott and her children, Effie Jane Locklear, Douglas Oxendine, Larry Jacobs and Terry Jacobs; her sister, Lois Jacobs and her brothers, Delwood Jacobs, Linwood Jacobs and Jack Jacobs.

She is survived by eight sons, Jack Oxendine of Killen, TX, Jerry Jacobs of Fairmont, NC, Lindsey Jacobs of Lumberton, NC, Bobby Jacobs of Lumberton, NC, Wayland Jacobs of Lumberton, NC, David Jacobs of Orrum, NC, Ted Jacobs of Lumberton, NC and Tony Jacobs of Lumberton, NC; five daughters, Barbara Jacobs of Lumberton, NC, Linda Bell of Orrum, NC, Lelia Jones of Lumberton, NC, Connie Scott of St. Pauls, NC, and Belinda Pittman of Lumberton, NC; one brother, Clifton Jacobs of Fairmont, NC; one sister, Vashti Gilliard of Rainbow City, AL; two special daughter-in-laws, Clara Jacobs of Orrum, NC and Angie Jacobs of Lumberton, NC; thirty-two grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and a special friend, Dianne Britt.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 3:00PM at The Rock Church of God with Rev. Michael Gist, Rev. Ronald Scott and Rev. James Mitchell Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

A visitation will be held on Saturday evening, August 6, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at The Rock Church of God.
