Mr. Zimp Leggett Atkinson age 67, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly of Fairmont, NC passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was born February 24, 1949 in Robeson County.

He was a Fairmont Mason for 40 years and a Shriner for 9 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church North Myrtle Beach. He was an avid pilot and teacher.

A visitation will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

A Funeral service will be held Sunday May 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Dalma Cribb and Rev. Wayne Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Atkinson and Mary Frances Atkinson; and two brothers, Paul and Jack Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Atkinson of the home; two daughters, Hope Walters(Royce) of Fairmont and Tarra Hardin(Sandy) of Myrtle Beach SC; and two grandchildren, Macie and Greyson Hardin.
