Mrs. Winnie Brigman Wishart, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. Mrs. Wishart was born in Parkton, NC April 20, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ellen Brigman. Winnie was a graduate of Parkton High School and attended secretarial school. She was the bookkeeper for Lumberton Implement Company for seventeen years. Mrs. Wishart was a member of the First Baptist Church, Seventh and Walnut Street and was active in various activities as long as her health permitted. She was a charter member of Lumberton Lioness Club and Mr. and Mrs. Garden Club. Mrs. Wishart is survived by one son, John E. Wishart, Jr. and his wife, Patricia Arnold Wishart of Lumberton; one grandson, John Brent Wishart of Chapel Hill, NC; one granddaughter, Katherine Sloane Provenza of Irvine, CA; one brother, Craig Brigman of Raleigh, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wishart was preceded in death by her husband, John Empire Wishart on January 12, 1983.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
The funeral service will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Cherry and Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.
