Winfred Taylor, 74, of 5204 Simmons Drive, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was a member of East Lumberton Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, part of the Maintenance Committee and a Trustee. He retired after 44 years with Home Builders Service, he was a past President of Lumberton Board of Relators, a member of Civiltan Club, and a Treasurer of Fayetteville Model \\"A\\" Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asbury and Lula Sessoms Taylor; and a brother, Aaron Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, LaVon Britt Taylor of the home; his son, Mitchel Alan Taylor and wife, Sandy of Mt. Gilead, NC; his daughter, Michelle Taylor Raines of Lumberton; his brother, David Earl Taylor of Travelers Rest, NC; and 3 grandchildren, Kathie Taylor, Taylor Raines and Harrison Raines.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at East Lumberton Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Revs. Mike Carter, Leroy Burke and Norman Wheeler officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
