Wilma Louise West Edwards, age 97, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on May 2, 1916 to the late Shelton West and the late Della Willoughby West. She was previously employed by Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edwards; four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Edwards is survived by two sons, Walter Stephen Edwards of West Jefferson and David Alan Edwards and wife Mary of Monroe; two daughters, Sandra Edwards Cook and husband Ronald of Ellerbe and Adella Jeanne Davis of Riegelwood, NC; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and special caretakers, Candace McMillan and Sheila Carter. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM at East Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. LeRoy Burke and Rev. Michael Bowen. Burial will follow in West Family Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
