Willow Clark Freeman, age 75, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 at McLeod Hospice of Florence, S.C.
Mrs. Willow Maynor Freeman, age 75, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 after an extended illness, in Florence, SC, receiving her eternal reward with our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley & Emma Clark; her son, Stoney Freeman; her sisters, Rosie and Betty Marie; brothers Ernest, James, Bobby, Charles, William Berry and John Wesley, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, M. D. Freeman, Jr. of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Lori Kay & Aaron Jones of Summerville, SC. Grandchildren, Canaan & Emersyn Jones of Summerville, SC; Skylar Freeman and Marcus Freeman, both of, Indiana; Great-grandchildren, Leeland Michael & Annzley Stone, of Indiana. She also leaves behind her sisters, Marie Carter, Delois Chavis and Jan Clark of Fairmont, NC; Margaret Hanchey of Lumberton, NC; Dorothy Chavis of Rowland, NC and Betty Locklear of Pembroke, NC.
In addition to her immediate family, she leaves a host of many special nieces and nephews. Of course, she made each and every one of them feel that she was their very own special "Aunt Maynor". While her children were young, Lori and Stoney's friends became her 'other' kids and she was always the first to offer invaluable guidance and wisdom to them. Her life-long neighbors were not only neighbors, they were her extended family, whom she loved and cherished deeply. Her church family was priceless to her and held a very special place in her heart. The number of family, friends, and acquaintances of whose lives she touched are too many to name.
In her younger years, she helped support her family as a seamstress; and in the later years of her life, she drove patients to and from Duke & Chapel Hill Hospitals. This was a job she loved, because it gave her the opportunity to witness to others about the Lord she served.
If you knew anything about Willow Maynor, then you knew she never passed up the opportunity to offer you her opinion, whether you wanted it or not. And as she matured in age, she no longer had a filter and sometimes seem to find joy in being given the chance to 'embarrass' you a little. Of course, she would laugh about it, then she told you she loved you, and all in the same breath! But, that is who she was; it is who we loved and is who we will miss endlessly.
