William Jiles "W.J." Stone, age 78, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on July 14, 1946 to the late Angelo Porter "Tanzie" Stone and the late Gertie Stone.  He was a longtime employee with Pepsi-Cola.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Stone and his two daughters, LaDonna Stone and Erma Jean Bullock.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stone, of the home; his children, Wanda Britt (Johnny) of Lumberton, Stoney Stone (Audrey) of Lumberton, Chris Bullock (Jenny) of Nichols, SC, and Eddie Warren (Rhonda) of Southport, NC; one sister, Judy Monroe (Mike) of St. Pauls; eleven grandchildren, William J. Britt (Paige) of Lumberton, Morgan Britt of Lumberton, Ariel Ward of Rowland, Tyler J. Stone (Cindy) of Alexandria, VA, Landon Claar, Trevor Stone, Zachary Haywood, Nikki Haywood, all of Lumberton, Jonathan Bullock (Amanda) of Tabor City, Kailey Roberts (Blake) of Aynor, SC and Kristen Nicole Bullock of Nichols, SC and ten great-grandchildren, Matthew, Riverlynn, Lillith, Chloe, Greyson, Daegan, Makynlynn, Cambri and two soon to arrive,  Miley J. Britt and John Daiton Roberts.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Larry Davis and Pastor Mike Ivey officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
