William Baker Wilson, age 87, of Tar Heel, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born May 15, 1930 in Robeson County to the late Joseph Leonard Wilson and the late Joanna Kinlaw Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 55 years, Evelyn Adams Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Barnes Wilson of the home; his children: Billy Wilson and wife Gay of Lumberton, Craig Wilson and wife Connie of Tar Heel, and Ann Baker Sessoms and husband Howard of Tar Heel; two stepsons: Bart Pharr and wife Julie of Mt. Airy and Michael Pharr and daughter Shelby of Tar Heel; five grandchildren: Lynn Wilson and wife Betsy, Christopher Wilson and wife Whitney, Kristy Anderton and husband Donald, Samantha Tetter and husband Nick, and Trent Sessoms and wife Susan; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, January 29, 2018, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Tar Heel Baptist Church.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Devon Varnam, Rev. Warren Hill, and Rev. Gary Deese officiating. Burial will follow at Tar Heel Baptist Church Cemetery.
