William Larry Thompson, age 74, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Robeson County, NC to the late Purvis & Betty Allen Thompson.

After Larry graduated from Lumberton Senior High School, he went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He was employed at Freeman Motor Company until his sickness occurred.

Larry witnessed to everyone that would come to visit how much the Lord meant to him. He had a personal relationship with Christ and it was evident in his daily life. Everyone that came to visit left more encouraged than when they arrived.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Coxe Thompson of the home; his daughter, Angela Dawn Hunt (Jeff) of Smithfield, NC; his son, Duane Thompson of Dunn, NC; and his grandchildren: Tanner Clary of San Francisco, CA, Peyton Clary of Smithfield, NC, and Kayleigh Thompson of Dunn, NC.

A special thank you to Healthkeeperz Medical Equipment Department and Hospice Care Unit. Additional thanks to wonderful neighbors Tony and Cynthia Hayes -- their daily assistance helping Nancy allowed Larry to remain at home throughout his sickness.

Larry's Favorite Bible Verse:
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

2 Corinthians 12:9

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Ron Murdock and Rev. Roosevelt Scott officiating.
