Mr. William Dean Sanderson, 57, of Maxton, NC, was born in Robeson County, NC on August 1, 1964 to the late Oran and Mable Jones Sanderson and he departed this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Sylvester Hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Candy Thomas of the home; two sons, Seth Hunt and wife Maria of Maxton, NC and Oran Sanderson of the home; a daughter, Amanda Lewis and husband Joseph of Lumberton, NC; his grandchildren: Safare, Sakyla, and Shayla Bullard, all of Maxton, NC; his siblings: Deloria Locklear and husband Harrison of Pembroke, NC, and Carol McMillan, Vinson Sanderson and wife Amy, Ricky Dean Sanderson and wife Josephine, Andrea Sanderson, Retta Sanderson, and Lisa Sanderson and husband Donnie, all of Maxton, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 1:30-2:30 PM at Morning Star Community Church, 702 Dunn Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM with Rev. Roosevelt Scott and Rev. Jimmy Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow at the Sanderson Family Cemetery in Maxton, NC.
