Mr. William "Elbert" Lamb, Sr., age 84, of Southern Pines, formerly of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Southern Pines. He was born in Robeson County, NC on October 7, 1934 to the late James Bratty Lamb and the late Dula Todd Lamb. He previously served in the US Army and retired as an E7 Sgt. 1st Class with twenty years of service. Mr. Lamb was the owner and operator of Bison Vacuum Center in Lumberton for thirty years.

Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William E. Lamb, Jr.; a brother, James Berry Lamb and a sister, Margie Richter.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Jean Smith Lamb of the home; three daughters: April Scott (Steve) of Lumberton, Ramona Britt (Ronald) of Columbia, SC, and Lisa Wilkins (Charlie) of Whispering Pines, NC; one brother, Tom Lamb (Ann) of Lumberton; two sisters, Carolyn Stallings of Oxford and Faye Johnson of Lumberton; six grandchildren: Beth, Adam, Brandon, Leah, Jonathan, and Brad; and five great-grandchildren: Hallie, Nathan, Kenny, Gracie, and Odin.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 1:00-2:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel. Burial will full military honors will conclude at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
