Mr. William Howard Flantos, age 70, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on December 2, 1953 to the late George & Ruth P. Flantos.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Flantos, his son, William Michael Flantos, and his infant daughter, Betty Ruth Flantos.

William is survived by his mother, "Mama Ruth" Flantos; his son, William Baker (Kimberly) of Lumberton, NC; his daughter, Kelly Oxendine (Mike) of Lumberton, NC; an uncle, Howard Flantos of Brunswick, GA; his brother, George Carlton Flantos of Lumberton, NC; his sisters, Kathy Waddell (Tommy), Marie Flantos, and Shirley Marlow, all of Lumberton, NC; his grandchildren: Kylie, Collin, and Jenna; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

Known as "Uncle William" to everyone, he was well loved by all. He loved all sports, especially baseball, football, and basketball. On his first high school football game, he scored all the points for his team. William will be remembered for his heart of gold;  he loved animals and everyone he met. He was also a great dancer.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Wednesday, December 20, 2023,  from 1:00-2:00 PM at New Life Church, 3990 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tim Williford and Pastor Russell Kinlaw, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
