William Eugene Hedgepeth, age 75, of Lumberton, NC died at his home on Sunday, December 16, 2012. He was born in Robeson County, NC on September 4, 1937 to the late Joe Bennett Hedgepeth and the late Mary Grace Currie Hedgepeth. He previously worked at Birch Tool & Die Maker as a tool and die maker.

Mr. Hedgepeth is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Helen Clauss Hedgepeth of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Eugene Hedgepeth and wife Teri of Ridge Manner, FL and William Eugene Hedgepeth II of Lumberton; a daughter, Deborah Lea Hedgepeth Schelich and husband Ron of Spring Hill, TN; a brother Herbert Clifton Hedgepeth of Lumberton; a sister Jerolyn Hedgepeth Smith of Lumberton; six grandchildren, Ray Schelich, Jeffrey Hedgepeth, Josh Schelich, Ben Hedgepeth, Nick Hedgepeth, Brandi Schelich and one great-grandchild, Lily Grace Kirby Schelich.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Lacy Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
