William "Bill" Carrell Gay, Jr., age 60, of Lumberton passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Belhaven, Beaufort County, NC on February 2, 1953 to the late William C. Gay, Sr. and the late Marie Lewis Gay. He worked as a Detention Officer for Robeson County Detention Center. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William "Bill" Carrell Gay, III. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Rhyne Gay of the home; his daughter, Ivy Britt Hair of Lumberton; a sister, Collette Gay Johnson and husband Lloyd of Lumberton; two grandchildren, A.J. and Jordon Hair; and a host of special nieces and nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Jordon officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton. Visitation will be on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gibson Cancer Center, 1200 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358 or Southeastern Hospice, 2002 N.
