Henry has gone to Heaven to join his much beloved wife of 59 years, Ann Elizabeth Smith Fisher.
In addition to his wife, Henry also was preceded in death by his parents, William Troy Fisher and Susan
Ratley Fisher; two sisters, Sally and Berdell; and three brothers, Raeford, James and George Fisher.
He is survived by three daughters, Joyce Short and husband, George, Judy Manning and husband, Phillip
and Dianne Fisher and companion, Karen; four grandchildren, Lorie Koehl and husband, Tom, Jeanette
Griffith and husband, Eric, William C. Manning and Christina Cark and husband, Marvin; and 10 great-
grandchildren.
Henry also left many nieces and nephews, especially Claude Fisher, Barbara Abernathy and Gene
Pittman, and a sister-in-law, Polly Pittman. Included in those are friends from the neighborhood, church,
Wal-Mart and those from all over town. Special friends are W.L. and Debbie Martin, Carlton and Peggy
Cox, Chris Conner, Dot Fields and family, and Susan Conner and family.
The funeral service will be Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Floyd Memorial Chapel with
Rev. Charles Brust officiating. Burial will follow at Great Marsh Baptist Church cemetery in St. Pauls.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary &
Crematory, Inc.
