William Earl Davis, age 73, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Earl, a native of Robeson County was born July 15, 1936 and was a graduate of Orrum High School, class of 1956. Folloiwng his retirement from Coca Cola Consolidated, he enjoyed volunteering at his home church, Godwin Heights Baptist, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Davis and Cleo Willoughby Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Tedder Davis of the home; one son, William Davis II and wife, Katherine Huggins of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Tammy Crecelius and husband, Greg of Ocian Isle Beach and Rose D. Verlinden and husband, Joseph of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Alton Davis and wife, Lelia and Carroll Davis all of Lumberton, NC; one sister, Pauline Nance of Lumberton, NC; granddaughters, Laren Munns of Raleigh, NC, Kristen Munns of Charlotte, NC and Olivia Verlinden; three grandsons, Bill Davis, Dixon Davis and Dallas Verlinden.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Godwin Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday evening, March 15, 2010 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E 5th Street in Lumberton.
