William Albert Britt, age 79, died at his residence in Orrum, NC on Thursday, December 24, 2009. He was born in Robeson County on August 15, 1930 to the late William Allen Britt and Lou Willer Lawson Britt. He was a school teacher for the Bladen County School System.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pauline Tatum Britt; and two brothers, Lonnie Britt and George Britt.

Mr. Britt is survived by three daughters, Lynn Britt and friend Wendy Davis of Cary, NC, Karen Britt and fiancee Shawgi Youssef of Wilson, NC and Gwen Binz and husband, Cary of Holly Springs, NC; two sisters, Grace McColskey of Chadbourn, NC and Carrie Mae Elvington on Lake View, SC; and two grandchildren, Nick Binz and Abby Binz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Elim Baptist Church with Rev. James Graham officiating. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
