Mrs. Willa Mae Brooks, age 77, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was born in Robeson County on November 28, 1936. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 3:00PM at McDonald Holiness Church in McDonald with Rev. Franklin Bartley and Marvin Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Brooks Family Cemetery at the home. A time of visitation will be held at the home on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 6:00-9:00PM at 1932 Dallas Road, Lumberton. Mrs. Brooks leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, James Earl Brooks of the home; three sons, Billy (Minnie) Brooks of Lumberton, Gerald (Phyllis) Brooks of Fairmont and Charles Brooks of the home; two daughters, Lisa (Terry) Oxendine and Janice Jackson (Earl McMillan), all of Lumberton; two brothers, six sisters, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
