Wendell Morrison Stanton, 93, of Lumberton, died on February 28, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House. The visitation and funeral will be held Thursday, March, 1, 2012 in the sanctuary of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the service will begin at 2:00 PM. The burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland and Annie Stanton; a son, Stan Stanton; a brother Cecil Stanton; and four sisters, Marie Gore, Edith Stone, Dorothy Pittman and Rosa Lee Pittman.

Mr. Stanton is survived by his wife, Agnes Stanton; two daughters, Ann and husband Bobby Pittman and Sue Gaines; four grandchildren, Cindy and husband Garron Warwick, Robbie Pittman, Brittany Gaines ?? all of Lumberton and Brandon Gaines from NJ; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Inman and Summer Hester of Lumberton.

Memorials may be made to the building fund of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, Southeastern Hospice House or a charity of your choice.
