Wendell Edgar Grant, Sr., age 75, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Regency Hospital of Florence, SC.  He was born in Rutherford County, NC on September 13, 1941 to the late Edgar Wyatt Grant and the late Colleen Johnson Grant.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Grant Davis; and sisters, Sybil Grant McCary and Judy Grant Lavioe.

Mr. Grant is survived by his wife, Mamie Overstreet Grant; sons, Wendell Edgar Grant, Jr. (Ronna) and Kenny Grant; daughter, Tammy Grant Powers; brother Roy Charles Grant; sister, Linda Grant Little - all of Lumberton; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Connor officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
