After graduation, Wayne joined the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Lumberton, NC and re-joined the family business, City Dry Cleaners. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Jeanne; his son, Tommy Stevens; his daughter, Mary Stevens; a daughter-in-law, Donna Stevens (Al Peguero); his grandchildren: Cole Lewis, Ethan Stevens, and Evan Peguero; his brothers, Lee Stevens and Mitchell Stevens; a sister-in-law, Carol Stevens; as well as numerous family members, friends, and coworkers.
