Mr. Joel "Wayne" Broadaway, age 69, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. He was born in Robeson County, NC on November 9, 1953, to Joel Nathan Broadaway and Nellie Correna Daigrepont. Wayne was a lover of horses and spent many years as a member of the NC Civil War Reenactment. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Nathan Broadaway; his maternal grandmother, Carrie Rogers; his sister, Judy Blackmon; and his loving wife, Mary Ruth Broadaway.

Wayne is survived by his three children: Christy Crumpler (Ken) of Goldsboro, NC, Nathan Broadaway (Sommer) of Orrum, NC, and Joel Broadaway (Brooke) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his mother, Nellie Correna Daigrepont; one sister, Nora Dove (Glenn) of Butters, NC; one brother, Clayton Broadaway of Lumberton, NC; and six grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
