Wanda Ann Smith, age 60, of Rockingham, NC, passed away at Moore Regional Hospital in Southern Pines, NC. She was born on March 9, 1965 in Mecklenburg County to the late Cecil Howard Simpson and Linda Miller Simpson.

Wanda worked for many years as a waitress Captain Larry's in Rockingham and later Shoney's until they closed. She also worked at the Country Store on Airport Road in Rockingham. There are many fond memories of the store and the lives of the residents of the community.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Simpson.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Arthur Smith of Scotland Neck; mother, Linda Simpson of Charlotte, NC; son, Steven Ray Smith (Sarah); daughter, Michelle Simpson of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren, Mason Ray Smith of Orrum, NC and Emily Murphy of Rockingham, NC; brother, Richard Simpson of Charlotte, NC, Brother-in-laws; William Smith, Mike Smith (Sherry) of Enfield, NC; niece, Courtney Smith and  nephew; Phillip Smith.
