Mrs. Vivian Locklear Wood, age 82, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at her home. She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 24, 1940, to the late Curtis Locklear and the late Vashtie Jones Locklear.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Wood, Sr.; her son, Curtis Andrew Wood; her brothers, Edison Locklear and Ike Locklear; and her sisters: Helena Locklear, Cheryl Koziol, Esther Rae Deese, and Beverly Locklear.

She is survived by Judy Locklear of Pembroke, NC; her sisters: Annie Sue Athey of Martinville, VA, Diane Bullard of Red Springs, NC, Freddy Locklear of Red Springs, NC, and Lu Crady Locklear of Greensboro, NC; her children: Barry Alan Wood of Taiwan, R.O.C., Charles Albert Wood, Jr. of Lumberton, NC, and Michelle Ann Hunt of Maxton, NC; four grandchildren: Charlee Ray Wood and Abigail Wood, both of Scott, AR, Jeremiah Boaz Wood, and Joshua Ishiah Wood; two great-grandsons, Zaxtyn Ray Wood and Adriel Sage Wood; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2173 Prospect Road in Pembroke, NC.
