Virginia Hayes Leggett, age 92, of Fairmont, NC passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 28, 2023.  She was born May 3 1930 in Dillon County, SC to the late Gurney Hayes and the late Mary Caulk Hayes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Lenner Leggett; brothers Robert, R.C., Carlyle, Glenn, Wade, Marion, and Don Hayes, and sisters Oneida Simmons and Martha Lois Barfield.

She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Leggett Barnes and husband McKinnon Barnes, Barbara Leggett Townsend and husband Joe Townsend; sisters are Mary Francis Pierce, Jeanette Herring, and Linda Watford; grandchildren Chris Barnes and wife Angel, daughters Savannah and Morgan, Ryan Barnes and wife Jessie, son Jake, Connor and daughter Anna, Kristie Townsend and Lauren Altman and husband Gary and son Grady.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Rd. Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will follow immediately after the visitation at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery, Fairmont, NC.
