Vera Rachel Williams Prevatte, age 88, of Lumberton died on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Williamsburg County, SC on March 8, 1922 to J.S. Williams and Bessie Player Williams Smith. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, W. Himbrick Prevatte.

Mrs. Prevatte is survived by two daughters, Jill P. McIntyre and Elva P. Britt and husband, Morris of Lumberton, NC; two grandchildren, Stephen R. Britt and wife Penny of Greensboro, NC and Rachel B. Locke and husband, Tom of Seattle, WA; and one great-grandson, Tommy Locke.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Clybornville Baptist Church in Lumberton with Rev. Gerald Wilson and Rev. Gerald Tyner officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be on Saturday evening, March 20, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
