Rev. Tommy R. Lewis, age 64, of Sugar Hill, GA formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland and Maggie Lewis; and sisters, Linda Lewis and Ann Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Mary Blackwell Lewis; children, Mary Ellen and Skip Pape, Suwanee, GA, and Joshua and Brittney Lewis, Suwanee, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen Kay and Jimmy Bass, Fairmont, NC, Faye and Lindsey Benton, Lumberton, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Lorraine Lewis, Lumberton, NC, Terry and Joyce Lewis, Lumberton, NC, and Larry and Rose Lewis, Lumberton, NC; mother-in-law, Evelyn Blackwell, Lumberton, NC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debby and John Gloria, Fayetteville, NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved pets Bella, Sophia and Sheba.

Rev. Lewis was born November 13, 1950 in Lumberton, NC. He was a 1970 graduate of Lumberton Senior High School. He was a member and retired minister of Hope Mills Church of God, Hope Mills, NC. At one time he pastored at Oakdale Church of God as well as Clyborn Pines Church of God where he was a long-time member. For over twenty-five years he was the owner and operator of Tommy's Foreign Cars in Lumberton, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at East Lumberton Church of God, Lumberton, with Rev. Bobby Sykes, Rev. Ronald Mizzell, Rev. Kenneth Boyd and Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating. The remains will lie in state beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Garden of Faith Cemetery, Lumberton, NC with Rev. Wayne Brewer officiating.

The family will receive friends at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton, on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. At other times the family will be receiving visitors at the home of Larry Lewis at 341 Robin Road Lumberton, NC 28358.
