Staff Sargent Timmy Sanders, age 41, of Fairmont went home to be with his Heavenly Father following a brief illness on Thursday, October 9, 2014 Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00PM at Northside Church of God with Pastor James Earl Hunt. Burial will follow in The Chavis Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Mr. Sanders served sixteen years in the National Guard and was currently serving the Fort Bragg and Fair Bluff Post. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Sanders and Johnnie Bell Chavis Sanders. He is survived by six brothers, Jimmy Sanders and Alexander Sanders both of Lumberton, Terry Sanders and Matthew Sanders both of Fairmont, Homer Junior Sanders and Lyndale Sanders both of the home; four sisters, Mary Linda Helms and Jennifer Sanders both of Athens, GA., Gail Garcia of Fairmont and Schawanna Sanders of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
