Thurman David Prevatte, age 76, of Lumberton, passed away on Wenesday, September 29, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born in Greeleyville, South Carolina on August 7, 1934 to the late Thurman Prevatte and Mildred Prevatte.

Mr. Prevatte was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Allen Prevatte

He is survived by three sons, Alan David Prevatte and wife, Peggy of Lumberton, Brian Lewis Prevatte and wife, Melissa of Dublin and Craig Steven Prevatte and wife, Denise of Lumberton; three brothers, Norman Prevatte and Edgar Prevatte, both of Lumberton and Lewis Prevatte of White Oak; five grandchildren, David Prevatte, Sheena Prevatte, Shane Prevatte, Jason Prevatte and Ethan Prevatte and six great-grandchildren, Kirsten Hammonds, Sierra Hammonds, Dakota Hammonds, Addison Zurcher, Camden Prevatte and Keighley Prevatte.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
