Thomas Averette "Tommy" Mitchell age 61 of Fairmont, NC passed away June 18, 2013 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 20, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont, NC with Rev. Jesse Yarborough officiating. Friends may visit at the home of his father Mr. Harry Mitchell at 407 Church St. Fairmont on Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 6-8 PM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Anita Lester Mitchell Tommy loved music, sports, and people. He was well loved by his family. Surviving are his father, Harry Mitchell of the home; two brothers, Joseph Mitchell of Fairmont and Harry Mitchell Jr. and wife Betty of Wake Forest, NC; one sister, Amanda Mitchell Smith and husband Fonnie of Florence, SC; two nephews, Jon and Will Mitchell of Wake Forest, NC; one niece, Britt Mitchell of Wake Forest, NC.
