Thomas Roosevelt Miller, age 83, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.  He was born on February 2, 1934 to the late Thomas Hezekiah and Daisy Hayes Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army.   He was a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Miller; sisters, Gayle Goodman, Hazel Hildebrant, and Maxine Coleman.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Ava J. Miller of the home; daughters, Cindy Rooks (Art) and Cheryl Stone (Randy) all of Lumberton; step-daughters, Vicky Talton (Johnny), Denise Britt (Garry), Janice Lee (Tommy), and Audrey Lewis (Mike) all of Lumberton; a brother, Eugene Miller of Albuquerque, NM;  grandchildren, Shawn, Zachary, Taylor, and Travis; and six step-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
