Thesia Davis Tyner, age 93, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 17, 1919 to the late Everette Davis and the late Addie Miller Davis. She previously worked as a cook at Doc Davis??s Restaurant & Café.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hezzie Tyner and an infant son, Wilbur Hezzie Tyner.

Mrs. Tyner is survived by three sons, Ben ??Joe? Tyner of the home, Joseph Harold Tyner and wife Louise and Johnny Tyner and wife Pat all of Lumberton; a daughter, Brenda T. Walters of Lumberton; a brother, Ben Davis of High Point; two sisters, Elois Burns of Red Springs and Martha Emmons of Rock Fish; a special adopted son and daughter, Leroy and Lugennia Hunt; seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Tim Tyner, Rev. Frankie Bass, and Mr. Leroy Hunt officiating. Burial will be on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
