Therese Pittman's Obituary
Jesus welcomed Therese Pittman, of Lumberton, NC, with open arms into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the young age of 66. Therese was
born in Robeson County, NC on November 13, 1955 to the late Holley & Nellie Burch. Therese lived a beautiful life.
She graduated Lumberton High School in 1973 and received an associate's degree in accounting. She married the love of her life, Murray Pittman,
in 1974, celebrating 47 years of marriage. Murray and Therese have 3 wonderful children: Carl, Jennifer, and Holly. Therese was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren who loved her so: Jared, Olivia, Beth, and Keelee.
Therese retired from a career in the postal service in 2018. Therese had a love for animals, especially horses. She was NC State 2009 Senior
Champion in barrel racing, a great achievement. As an active member of Singletary Baptist Church, she loved the Lord and cared deeply for her church family.
This kind soul also leaves behind one sister, Catherine Burch, and three brothers: Martin Burch
(Debbie), Michael Burch, and John Burch (Tammy); as well as many other family members.
Therese was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Pittman; a brother,
Phillip Burch; and her parents, Holley and Nellie Burch.
The celebration of life for this wonderful, kind woman will be held at Singletary Baptist Church, 4061 Singletary Church Road in Lumberton, NC. A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 11:00AM-12:00PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
