Mrs. Thelma Oxendine Cintron, age 87, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home. She was born on August 13, 1933 in Robeson County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arber Oxendine, Sr. and Pearlie Strickland Oxendine; eight brothers: Cullan Oxendine, Vardell Oxendine, Ardell Oxendine, Varcie Oxendine, James Wilbert Oxendine, Charlie Ray Oxendine, Arber "Zonnie" Oxendine, Jr., and John Wesley Oxendine, a sister, Allie Ruth Price; and a son-in-law, Terry Lynn Hunt.

Ms. Thelma was a member of New Bethel Methodist Church and retired from Converse Shoe Co. She was also a member of the South Robeson Elders Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. Her twin sister, Velma, was her best friend. They loved dressing alike even when it was hard for people to tell them apart.

She leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters: Joanne C. Hunt, Judy Cintron, and Susan Bass (Wayne), all of Fairmont, NC; two sons, Dwight Cintron of Lumberton, NC and John Cintron (Veronica) of Fairmont, NC; her twin sister, Velma O. Roberge of the home; one brother, R.J. Oxendine; seven grandchildren: Joseph Cintron, Travis Hunt, Leanna Hunt, John Cintron, Kema Cintron, Sammy Clark, and Kristy Lee Cintron; 17 great-grandchildren and a great host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; along with special caregivers, Travis Hunt, Janet Hunt, and Avie Brewer.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery in Rowland, NC with Scott Hammonds officiating.
