Tammy "Coot"
Scott
Dec 5, 1972 — Jun 5, 2024
Fairmont
Tammy "Coot" Scott, known by some as Tina, 52, of Fairmont, N.C. peacefully departed this Earth on June 7th, 2024, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was born in Robeson County, N.C. on December 05, 1972, to the late Barbara Ann Hunt and Cleveland "Buckwheat" Hunt.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Cleveland Hunt, Micheal "Gucci" Chavis, Kendale Scott, and Timothy "Wheatie" Hunt. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Angela "Angel" Hunt.
She is survived by her loving husband, Elton Scott; four sons who she cherished and adored, her "Cummings Boys"; Randy Jr. Cummings (Sierra Floyd), Eric Ray Cummings (Tabitha Locklear), Randall Cummings (Lisa Pevia), and Jeremiah "JC" Cummings; four loving step-children: Willie Flantos, Josh Scott (Whitney), Cherletta Scott (Brandon), Brian Poston (Tasha); 7 grandchildren; "RJ", Brayden, Isaiah, Bryson, "CJ", Ellie, and Wa'kiyan; 12 step grandchildren; 3 sisters: Barbara Evett (Eugene), Nancy Hunt (Micheal), and Christina "Chrissy" Hunt; one brother, Cleveland Hunt Jr.; a "mother-in-love", Catherine Cummings; nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Everyone that met Coot could easily see that she was fun, loving, strong-willed, a lover of life, and one of a kind. She was the life of the party wherever she went, she never met a stranger. She was always willing to help those in need but had a talk game that was out of this world and a gift for conversation. If you were ever down and out while she was around, she would certainly leave you with an everlasting smile. Within the last year she was the happiest that anyone had ever seen her. She was so very proud of herself, her marriage, and the life she was building for herself.
She was known for being a very hard worker. She was employed and loved by Get-N-Go Grill in Lumberton, N.C. and Sunoco in Fairmont; N.C. Throughout her employment she met many customers that became family.
Coot will definitely be missed, cherished forever like no other, her presence was contagious. Rest in peace to the REALEST, the one and ONLY, Tammy Sue.
