Susan Britt Huggins, age 74, of Laurinburg, NC died on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on April 9, 1942 to the late Elbert E. and Marjorie Wallace Britt.  She previously worked as a legal assistant for Musselwhite & Branch and retired from the law offices of McCoy, Wiggins, Cleveland, & McLean.  She was a former member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Laurinburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Britt and Freddie Britt; and a sister, Frieda Margaret Britt.

Mrs. Huggins is survived by her sisters, Jean Haire of Dunn, Josie Dent of Pembroke, Ann Britt Fikis (Bill) of Ocean Isle Beach, Donna Britt Carter (Buck) of Laurinburg; sister by choice, Linda Rolfe (Ed) of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Michael Malpass and Mr. Buck Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service and at other times at the home of Donna Carter.  A private burial will be held at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
