Susan Yvonne Davis Evans, age 69, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, one day following her beloved husband, James Franklin "Franky" Evans, Jr.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on February 16, 1957 to the late John Carl Davis and to Grace Barnes Davis.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Carl Davis; her husband, James Franklin "Franky" Evans, Jr.; two brothers, William James "Jimmy" Davis and Tommy Shelby Davis and one sister, Patricia Hoffman.

Surviving are her three children, James F. Evans, III (Patricia) of Palm Harbor, FL, Stacy C. Evans (Delisa) of Pembroke and Amanda Evans Thompson (Rakeem) of Red Springs; her mother, Grace Barnes Davis (age 98) of Lumberton; three brothers, Johnny Davis (Brenda) of Sanford, Billy Davis (Susan) and Dennis Davis, all of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew (Elizabeth), Layla (Effie), Ainsleigh, Allison, Mason and an upcoming Baby Girl arriving June 2026 as well as seventeen nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00PM on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton,

A funeral service will follow the visitation on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 3:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chip Bass and Pastor Kenneth Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
