Sue Hopie Floyd Eagerton, age 89, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, at her home. She was born January 27, 1928 in Harnett County. She will be remembered for her years as a cook at Pate's Drive-In.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Dewey Eagerton; her son, Clifford Dewey Eagerton, Jr.; one daughter, Martha Sue Tucker; one brother, Billy Joe Floyd; and three sisters: Loucille Marchant, Elouise Yusko, and Margaret Holland.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Lee and husband Mitchell of Orrum, a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Eagerton of Savannah, GA; a son-in-law, Carlos Tucker of Lumberton; ten grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Porti of NY and Virginia.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
