Mr. Stephen Aaron Bowen, 70, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Battle Creek, MI on September 18, 1951 to the late William Clyde Bowen and the late Patsy Jean Gill Bowen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served honorably as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War. He later became a truck driver for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bowen of the home; two sons, Adam Ashley Bowen and wife Amanda of Maxton, NC and Daniel Ryan Bowen and wife Ashlyn of Mauldin, SC;  his grandchildren: Liberty Rose Bowen, Judah Ukiah Bowen, Titus Alexander Bowen, Zadie Jo Bowen, Madeline Lamontagne, and Josiah Lamontagne; a brother, Mark Oliver Bowen and wife Sandy of Hastings, MI; a sister, Candace Bowen of Jacksonville, FL; a special niece, Cheryl Sinclair and husband Gene; and two special nephews, Cole Bowen and wife Alison and Craig Bowen and wife Angela.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Freedom Baptist Church, 4020 McDuffie Crossing Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM.

Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Boulevard in Spring Lake, NC.
