Stella Mae Parker Burney, age 79, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville. She was born on September 9, 1939, in Dillon, SC to the late Roy Parker and the late Vera Smith Parker.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Burney, and three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her children: Ronald Earl Burney and wife Lillian Rose of St. Pauls, Derek L. Burney of Lumberton, and Sandra Lynn Burney of Lumberton; five grandchildren: Terry Burney, Stephanie Burney, Michael Burney, Heather Pruitt, and Wendy Harkness; and three great-grandchildren: Morgan, Michelle, and Alex.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 2:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Foreman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
