Shirley Lanier Bell, age 81, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Chambers County, AL on July 29, 1934 to the late James and Eva Moore Lanier. She previously worked in real estate for Century 21 - The Real Estate Center in Lumberton. She was a member of the Lumberton Board of Realtors from 1977-1998, Realtor of the Year in 1983, President of the Board of Realtors in 1981, and a member of the Multimillion Dollar Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Carlton Bell; a daughter, Betsy Ann Bell Sims; a grandson, Zackery Benjamin Sims; and her brothers and sisters. Mrs. Bell is survived by a daughter, Dr. Julie Dee Bell of Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and a grandchild, James Carlton Sims, of LaGrange, GA A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Wesley Pines Fellowship Center with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service.
