Mrs. Shelia Ann Hunt Barksdale, 58, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021. She was born in Robeson County, NC on April 16, 1963 to the late Stanton Strickland and the late Esterline Willa Hunt.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Cleveland Hunt, James Howard Hunt, Merle Hunt, Jr., and James Arthur Hunt; and a sister, Gail Carter.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Barskdale of the home; her only child, Lakisha Lynn Barksdale of Rowland, NC; two grandchildren, Nakima Oxendine and Shalylia Barksdale, both of Rowland; a Godson, Trent Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC; three brothers: Johnny Hunt and wife Ann of Sanford, NC and Robert Paul Hunt and wife Delores and Bobby Ray Hunt and wife Mary Sue, all of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Judy Hunt Roach and Lisa Lane Britt and husband Allen, all of Lumberton, NC; and a special friend and neighbor, Geraldine Porter of Fairmont.

The family will receive friends and loved ones throughout the day on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the home, 104 Peace Street in Fairmont, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Billy Ray Burns and Rev. Dorell Brewer. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
