Mrs. Shelby Jean Britt, 84, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 18, 1937 to the late Weldon Britt and the late Mattie Turbeville Britt.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Britt, and a sister, Grace Parker.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Curtis Cartwright and wife Vickie of Fairmont, NC; a stepson, Blake Britt and wife Lynn of Latta, SC; a stepdaughter, Jackie Britt of Lumberton, NC; eight grandchildren: Trace Cartwright, Travis Cartwright, Devon Chavis, Stevie Cartwright, Brandie Cartwright, Christopher Britt, Courtney Jackson, and Brandon Rowell; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Estalene Hedgepeth of Chadbourn, NC.

Services will be private.
