Sharon McCarthy Johnson, age 69, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019. She was born on September 27, 1950, in Robeson County to the late Dennis Paul McCarthy and the late Mary Florence Britt.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Johnson; and her former husband, Eddie Van Dolson; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dale McCarthy; and a nephew, Paul McCarthy.

She is survived by her brother, Mike McCarthy of Lumberton; two sisters, Colleen Brown (Ron) of Lumberton and Rosemary McCarthy-Mareka (Joe) of Efland, NC; two nieces,  DeeDee Rouse (David) of Orrum and Michelle Smith (Graham) of Lumberton; two nephews, Patrick Brown of Lumberton and Matthew Mareka (Karly) of Seattle, WA; four great-nieces: Abigail Brown, Emersyn Smith, and Ariel and Adelia Mareka; and four great-nephews: Marshall Rouse, Paul Smith, and Austin and Ari Brown.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 2:00-3:00PM at Floyd Memorial and Crematory Inc. in Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Paul Elam McCarthy Memorial Scholarship Fund at NCSU.
