Sharon Hunt, passed away peacefully at her home in Lumberton, NC on June 30, 2026 at the age of 72.

Sharon will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She enjoyed watching game shows, relaxing with a fresh cup of coffee, and spending time at home with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Gene Hunt; her father, William Locklear; her mother, Coline Kirby; and four brothers, Harold Locklear, Garland "Moosy" Locklear, William "Punkin" Locklear, and Jimmy Dean Locklear.

She is survived by her loving children, Winston Locklear (High Point), Wayne Hunt (Karan), Kay McDonald (Jason) and Rena Hunt; her cherished grandchildren, Laila, Halona, Kaylee, Tristen, Navayia, and Jacob; and two beloved great-grandchildren, Landon and Jordan. She also leaves behind her loving sisters Teresa Chavis (Charlotte), Barbara Ann Brayboy (Bessemer City) and brother Kenneth "Baby" Locklear (Mt. Holly) , along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Sharon's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton, NC. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2026 at Elizabeth Heights Church. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.
