Sarah Ann Smith, age 78, of Pembroke NC, died peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026. She was born January 12, 1948 in Washington, DC to the late Ignatius Salemi and Viola Hope Hunt.

Ann had a great love of her family and her pets. She also enjoyed working in her garden and traveling.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Patty Britt (Edward), NC; son, Jeff Hollingsworth (Linda), VA; step-son, Jeff Smith (Shannon), VA; two sisters, Terry Valentine (Bill), PA and Cia Salemi, KS; four grandchildren, Nick (Aya), Amber, Steven and Madalynn; and four great-grandchildren, Leo, Nico, Joanna and Nova.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Frankie M. Smith, one brother, Johnny Salemi and one sister, Mary Ellen Corrigan.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
