Sarah Love Powers Pope, age 93, of Lumberton, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at GlenFlora Nursing Facility. She was born July 19, 1924 in Bladen County to the late Lexie and Lena Davis Powers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Lexie Powers, Jr., Miller Powers, and Harold Powers; and a sister, Kathleen Murdock.

She is survived by her son J. Larry Pope and wife Marilyn of Lumberton; three grandchildren: Beverly Bridgers and husband Stephen of Elizabethtown, Kim Kinlaw and husband Steve of Lumberton, and Lee Hinson and wife Lynn of Lumberton; seven great-grandchildren: Jules Bridgers of Burbank, CA, Kathryn Bridgers Wilson and husband Cody of Murfreesboro, TN, Zach Kinlaw and Kayleigh Simmons of Lumberton, Rachel Edwards and fiancé Alston Wilkerson, Emma Hinson of Lumberton, and Leah Hinson of Lumberton, and Sebastian Heilgeist and wife Tina of Mountainview, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Burial will be private.
