Sarah Baxley Bruce, age 66, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Highland Acres Nursing Center. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 22, 1948 to the late Oscar M. and Annie Parker Baxley. She previously worked for Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bruce is survived by a son, Dewey Bruce II and wife, Crystal of Lumberton; a daughter, Charlotte Cox of Lumberton; four grandchildren, Courtney Parker, Hillary Oxendine, Lindsey Cox, and Ava Bruce and three great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Baxley Family Cemetery.
