Sarah Hayes Bass, age 92, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018, at Woodhaven Nursing Center in Lumberton. She was born December 31, 1925 in Robeson County to the late Douglas Hayes and Retha Davis Hayes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilbert Lee Bass.

She is survived by her children: Martin Bass of Lumberton, Douglas Bass and wife Gretchen of Lumberton, and Brenda Hill of Lumberton; three grandchildren: Shelly Zellers, Brent Bass, and LeAnn Bass; two great-grandchildren: Leslie Zellers and Austin Stephens; and her siblings: Marvin Hayes of Lumberton and Helen Watkins of Lumberton.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Brett Young officiating.

The family will receive friends at the graveside briefly before the funeral and following interment.
