Sara Warwick Williams, age 95, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Wesley Pines Retirement Community. She was born in Orrum, NC on April 23, 1929, to the late Hardy & Alice Anne (Curtis) Warwick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Erwin T. Williams, Jr.; brothers: Hardy, Jr., Joseph Ira, and Elbert; sisters, Alice Ruth Hall and Hazel W. Smith; step-son-in-law, Mark Eldridge; and nephews: Sonny Hall, John Hardy Hall, Dannie Walters, and Luke Walters; and niece, Ann Hall Muhler.
Sara is survived by stepdaughter, Susan Williams Eldridge; stepson, Erwin Williams III (Mary); five step-grandchildren: Jennifer Eldridge, James Eldridge (Allee), Erwin Williams IV (Abbey), Mitchell Eldridge (Erin), and Andrew Williams; one great- grandchild, Mark Eldridge; nieces: Delores Wells (Jack), Margo Foster (John), Karen Meredith, and Nan Dolphens; a host of great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; dear cousin, Mary Clark Deters; and special friends, B.G. & Nancy French and Rev. Sam & Mary Warner.
Sara loved gardening and watching and feeding the birds, squirrels, and neighborhood cats. She lived a full life and was admired and loved by family and friends. Her smile, laughter, dry wit, and positive attitude were contagious to everyone. She had a great talent of singing with her natural vibrato voice from childhood throughout her adult years. Her mama played the piano and recognized Sara's love for music and taught her how to play at an early age. Family enjoyed Sara's concerts and singing along with her at home, always starting out with her favorite "Beyond the Sunset". Sara's mantra was "Live one day at a time", and that she did all her life.
The family wishes to express special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Wesley Pines Retirement Community, as well as Liberty Hospice, for the dedication and loving care given to Sara, during her final days.
